Western Africa is home to the herbaceous perennial climbing plant species known as Thunbergia erecta. Each angle of the quadrangular shoots carries a little wing. Oval-elliptic, oppositely placed leaves.
A broad triangular tooth may occasionally be seen above the center of an entire or wavy leaf margin. This robust vine thrives in full sun with a southern exposure, but in warmer areas, it keeps greener and prettier with a little shade protection from the intense afternoon light.
When the soil is dry, water the plant, and apply granular fertilizer in the spring and fall. To promote a rapid re-sprout, prune once the flowering cycle is over, and prune once more in the late summer.
