Although taking care of plants is not difficult, caution is needed. Early training of the vines is necessary while they are still young. Use plant ties or just weave them between the trellis’s panels.
Before the plant’s new growth appears in the spring, fertilize it.
In order to encourage branching, which will fill the trellis with bushy growth, pinch off the tops of the vines in the second year.
Place your plants where they will get at least 5 to 6 hours per day of full sun. Plants cultivated in insufficient sunlight may not immediately perish, but may deteriorate over time. Don’t overcrowd them while planting, and provide lots of organic matter. To protect your hands from sharp thorns, put on some robust gloves.
Excellent ground cover for locations where invasive spread is either desired or allowed, or when suitable barriers have been put in place. A reliable plant for preventing erosion on banks and slopes. Leave the wooded gardens alone so you can wander.
