Anthurium is a genus of herbs mostly growing on other plants as epiphytes. Its flowers are beautiful and the leaves are often clustered and variable in size. It contains spirals which looks like a hood on flowers. more common names include anthurium, tailflower, flamingo flower, and laceleaf.
Almost all parts of the Anthurium plant are poisonous. There re 4 ways to grow this plant – by vegetative reproduction, seeds, tissue culture, and fertilization. Anthurium lants need a highly organic soil mix with good water retention properties and good drainage. To prevent the rotting of stems and roots you need a well drained soil.
Anthurium can be grown as indoor plants in mild climates and in shady spots. Best way is to plant it in a pot.
