The decorative cactus Opuntia microdasys enhances beauty. The bunny ears cactus grows into a thick shrub that is between 4 and 12 cm broad. It has several 23mm long white or yellow glochids (hair-like prickles), which are found in dense clusters but lack any spines.
In April and May, the blooms pop out from the pads’ upper edges. Rarely do the golden blossoms bloom. When the plant grows clumps and outgrows the pot, repot it. It should be carried out in the spring, either before or after the wet season.
